Stimulate your brain for good health

Part of living well and staying healthy is keeping your brain nourished both physically and mentally. As we age, it's good to stimulate your brain by continuing to learn new things and exposing ourselves to new ideas. Doing crossword puzzles, learning to use a computer, physical exercise, changing your normal activities in a way that challenges your brain a bit are all excellent ways for us to keep our minds sharp.

One thing I like to do is read about places I've never been and learn about the people, culture and geography of the region. I recently did some reading about Dubai and realized I knew nothing about it. Dubai is considered the "Pearl of the Middle East" and is a very popular tourist destination with a modern lifestyle, giant shopping malls, endless beaches and luxurious hotels. In the late 19th century, it transformed from a small fishing village to a prosperous city that caters to foreign visitors while holding onto it's Muslim traditions. It's located in the northeastern area of the United Arab Emirates, bounded on one side by the Trucial Coast and the other by the great Arabian Gulf. It's size is 3885 square kilometers and is the second largest among the United Arab Emerites. Their weather is most comfortable between January and March with moderate temperatures and sun almost every day. In April through October the temperatures are much warmer, with July being the warmest month.

Dubai is constructing 4 artificial groups of islands to further expand it's area. With it's modern, high tech concrete and glass structures, Dubai Property is sought after for commercial and office use, large modern apartments and villas right in the middle of the sea. Jumeirah village is composed of large villas and townhouses in the classic Arabian and Mediterranean architecture with balconies looking out onto beautiful landscapes. Jumeirah Property has some of the lowest rates making it a good real estate investment. Under construction is a Dubailand Property, a large entertainment complex which will contain Eco-Tourism World, a downtown section, and Attractions and Experience World, along with many other tourist attractions. Dubailand is the dream of Sheihk Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum to be a featured city to attract approximately 15 million tourists to it's six theme worlds.

Dubai's International City

With Dubai's climate and being surrounded by water, it sounds like a lovely place to live or visit.
